AWE have an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist to join our growing team.
The purpose of the role is to assist with the implementation and execution of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management within assigned categories. Assist with commercial and contract performance supportto the business to allow management of project and commercial risk.
As the Category Specialist, you will contribute to the development and assist with the implementation of a category strategy. Prepare and support the execution of the RFx process, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, business award andcontract handover to the business. Prepare input and support supplier relationship management for key suppliers whilst monitoring supplier performance. Prepare and assist with external management review meetings.
This role will be joining the team responsible for the procurement of services and materials for new builds, refurbishments and infrastructure projects.
**Package**:from £33,350 to £45,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Ideally you will have experience of working at a similar level within a comparable organisation (MOD, Defence, Nuclear, Regulated) or industry. You will also have experience of:
- MS Office products especially Excel.
- Strong negotiator/influencer.
- Able to translate and analyse financial information e.g supplier accounts, cost data etc.
- Risk and opportunity management.
- Proactive approach, tackles issues before they become problems.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contractual arrangements.
- Managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Pricing arrangements e.g target cost incentive fee.
- Preparing tender packages, conducting tender competitions, developing evaluation criteria, analysing and evaluating proposals, negotiating subcontract provisions, subcontractor selection.
- Working within a Procurement Function.
