**JOB PURPOSE**: To support the Mental Health Act Administration Manager in providing a high quality administrative service to meet the statutory requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007) and to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Mental Health Act Administration Service for the Trust. KEY RESULT AREAS: Receive and scrutinise statutory documentation and ensuring that errors are rectified within the legal timescale Provide information to patients and nearest relatives under Section 132 of the Mental Health Act 1983 To maintain registers and an effective and up to date database of statutory deadlines To send letters to patients following detention/discharge and to Nearest Relatives where appropriate
