This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for improvement to join an established Quality Improvement Team, the post holder will work primarily on the Cancer Improvement Programme and will play a key role in the delivery of the organisations Cancer improvement ambitions.

The post holder will establish strong links with the Central Cancer Team across both Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust and Hull Teaching hospitals and will support on Improvement projects linked to Cancer Services. There will be a particular focus on cancer pathway re-design. These projects have a high level of complexity due to the range pathways in the Trust which interlink with neighboring Trusts across the Humber Coast and Vale footprint and with primary care.

The post holder will support the Quality Improvement Team to implement agreed Quality Improvement work and achieve results. They will facilitate and support the delivery of improvement work whilst also helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the Trust, utilising the Model for Improvement.

The post holder will develop, coach and support colleagues through their Quality Improvement journey.

1. To work with colleagues, teams and services to build Quality Improvement capabilities and confidence to deliver improvement outputs.
2. To work with the Quality Improvement Manager (for Cancer) to build and support a Quality Improvement culture across the Cancer Improvement Programme.
3. To ensure all improvement projects remain consistent with the organisation’s chosen Quality Improvement approach and methodology (Model for Improvement).
4. To facilitate the delivery of assigned pieces of Improvement work, working alongside clinical and managerial colleagues to secure successful outcomes.
5. To play a key role in building Quality Improvement capability and knowledge within the Trust through the delivery of a variety of education and facilitation sessions with colleagues at all levels.
6. To support colleagues within in the organisation with their Quality Improvement journey through a variety of mechanisms beyond education, for example coaching, mentoring and ongoing support.
7. Maintain and produce effective data reports, ensuring results are analysed effectively to enable colleagues to report and take appropriate action to address any areas for improvement. Knowledge in SPC and run chart data is necessary for this role.
