**The Property Maintenance Team**
The Property Maintenance team ensures the inspiring retail environments we create are well maintained and safe, maximising our customers shopping experience.
**The role**
The Property Maintenance team are recruiting for a Regional Building Surveyor to join their busy and expanding team of 20. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Property Maintenance team delivering a professional, efficient and cost effective maintenance for all of our UK stores. The role will be field based and the location is flexible.
- Management of small and multi-site projects for the retail team.
- Procurement and management of planned and reactive maintenance contractors.
- Liaising with landlords and agents on interim and terminal schedules of dilapidations, negotiate claims in order to limit potential liability.
- Providing technical support and advice to the property helpdesk.
- Surveying, tendering and management of large property maintenance projects.
- Management of health and safety in small shop-fitting and building related projects.
- Provision of a 24/7 on call emergency assistance to the retail team.
- Contractor site auditing.
**Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed**:
- Qualified to HND level in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience of construction safety legislation.
- Working in a fast paced retail property maintenance environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the need to ensure and demonstrate value for money.
- Practical knowledge of building pathology and remedies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
