**Mechatronics Design Engineer**

**Location**: Macclesfield, SK10 2NZ, Cheshire.

**Mechatronics Design Engineer - The Opportunity**

Reporting to the R&D manager, you will be working as part of a small, focused team dedicated to product development within the engineering department, as well as collaborating with operations and support teams on technical aspects as needed.

This role would suit a proactive, hands on and driven person who relishes the opportunity to be part of a team and collaborate cross functionally with HW, FW, SW & ME.

The scope and complexity of your projects will be based on your existing knowledge and capabilities as well as how fast you can acquire new skills. We offer a challenging and dynamic working environment with opportunities to make a substantial contributionto new product development.

**Experience Requirements**
- Significant hands-on hardware design experience, with firmware/software experience in developing automated systems or test equipment (C or C++)
- Ability to design, verify and debug digital and analogue circuits
- Printed circuit board design experience including experience with high-speed signal integrity
- Good analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and tackle challenging tasks
- Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, actuators and wiring
- Collaboration with multi-discipline engineering team (HW, FW, SW, ME)

**Desirable Experience**
- Understanding of circuit theory, transmission line theory, and high-speed signal fundamentals
- Circuit Design Simulation (e.g. LTSpice, Cadence, ICX, Hyperlynx, Spice, PSpice)
- Working to design and produce electrical schematics and diagrams for a range of automation equipment
- Experience in defining hardware requirements and determining appropriate verification strategies
- Product development experience delivering commercial mechatronics solutions
- Experience with multiple robots in shared space
- Experience with designing for EMC and debugging related issues
- Verification that final designs meet all environmental, regulatory and safety standards
