Lucid Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a company based in **Skelmerdale**who are seeking a Project Engineer. Our client is an international company that work within a wide range of industries including aerospace, defense, automotive, power generation, oil & gas, construction, machine building medical and transportationand is a vital link in the manufacturing supply chain, employing over 5,700 people in 26 countries.

**Responsibilities**:
We are looking to recruit a Project Engineer who will ensure that Quality, Technical and Engineering problems are solved. They will convert new projects into production and provide an Engineering resource for Production and Sales when required

**Main Responsibilities**:

- In conjunction with the site Quality / Technical Manager and General Manager control all aspects of the New Product Introduction (NPI)
- To help implement the company’s objectives for lean manufacturing and the elimination of waste in our processes
- To aid in the development of new processes and systems
- To support the quality function on a daily basis with a practical hands on involvement
- To support the inspection function, ensuring timely resolution of any problems
- To liaise with internal departments to trouble shoot on a daily basis and work towards eliminating sources of nonconformance
- To liaise with external organizations, customers and suppliers on quality matters
- Liaise with customers, managers and staff to ensure NPI’s are implemented and controlled correctly
- Support the Quality department on site when required
- Support the sales team on Metal Joining Quotations / Opportunity’s ? Clarify customers work in accordance with relevant release
- requirements
- Carry out contract review on customers work
- Release work into production
- Ensure all quality aspects of customer requirements are maintained
- Book in components ensuring customers paperwork is in order
- Raise job cards / route cards / data cards
- Inspect own work to identify trends & maintain quality standards
- Maintain a tidy / safe working environment

- Good housekeeping of own work area and contribute to the general fabrication process

- Be committed to a "right first time" approach to all tasks carried out
- Operate in a safe manner and undertake any training necessary to enable you to fulfil the requirements of your position
- To uphold your statutory duty of care for your own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions
- To enable the company to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations or defective equipment
- Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues

**Qualifications, experience and skills**:

- Suitably qualified in Engineering and/or a Metallurgical discipline is preferred or to be competent with appropriate experience. Engineering BTEC ONC or HNC is preferred
- Direct experience of standard Quality Engineering tools, skills and tasks, e.g. 8D, RCCA, pFMEA, Gauge R&R, 5S, Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Techniques is preferred but not essential
- Some materials knowledge and experience of standard Metallographic Laboratory techniques is desirable
- Experience of working and communicating directly with customers
- Team worker, concern for accuracy and quality, good communicator, flexible, initiative, customer focused, conscientious with a hands on approach and good planning and organising
