The Division uses authorisation and early oversight to help deliver our public offer, and as a tool to protect consumers from the harm that can be caused by bad conduct in the financial services industry. Our transformation strategy focuses on how we digitise the gateway, through improved use of data. This is about making us ready for the future, both to meet the needs and expectations of applicants who use our services, but also to improve our effectiveness. We work with the FCA Supervision, Policy and Competition teams as well as Enforcement and Market Oversight, to enable a holistic and coordinated approach to regulation.
We are recruiting for a talented, enthusiastic Case Officer to work as an Associate in the Cancellations team within the new Controllers and Cancellations Department in Authorisations.
What you will be doing
You will be expected to demonstrate:
- Efficient management of a high volume of cases- The ability to identify, evaluate, investigate and pre-empt risks to the FCA's statutory and operational objectives- Good communication and influencing skills with key internal and external stakeholders, including applicant firms- The ability to make strong and timely judgements, based upon accurate consideration of all relevant factors- Excellent time and workload management, demonstrating the ability to manage and prioritise different tasks effectively- Working collaboratively and supporting colleagues

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month, with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations
The skills and experience you will have
Minimum- Prior experience within case management to ensure that all cases are assessed correctly, meeting service standards and statutory deadlines- Prior experience within a regulatory environment and/or assisting with financial services issues- Prior experience in a role where good written communication skills has been crucial
Essential- A credible role model, demonstrating all of the FCA cultural characteristics- Good analytical skills and the ability to present your outcomes clearly and effectively- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills- A strong team player with the ability to be flexible and pragmatic, able to adapt to changing circumstances, positively embracing new approaches- Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines- Some evidence of building and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders
