**Assembly Assistant**
**- Full Time Permanent. Based Barwell, Leicester**

Immediate opportunity for an experienced Assembly Operative to join an innovative precision Lens engineering company.

True Lens Services, TLS, are recognised worldwide for lens innovation, having an unbeatable reputation in the design, manufacture and servicing of lenses for the film and television industries in the UK and Internationally.

We are now looking to recruit an Assembly Assistant to support the Technician and Engineering teams. Using your experience of small scale assembly, you will work across the Finishing, Re-housing and Engraving teams flexibly to support business demands.

With this, you will become involved in the initial picking of parts and general assembly as part of the overall prepping of rehousing units, engraving of the component parts, painting the engraving, as well as the final assembly of the rehoused lenses.

Teamworking, flexibility and enthusiasm are a must in this busy and varied role as is a keen eye for detail and tidy approach to your work and working environment. You will enjoy working independently with good concentration to the task in hand.

You will also enjoy working with intricate pieces using your hands and small tools to assemble parts together. Your background as a precision assembly operative will stand you in good stead as you learn the more intricate aspects of our technology.

The ability to communicate effectively with the different business functions will also help you thrive in this role as will strong computer skills to operate associated machinery. **Key responsibilities will include**:

- Picking of parts and preparation of the re-housing units
- Mechanical assembly of individual components
- General engineering duties including the engraving of various components
- Paint filling of engraved components
- Mechanical assembly both of individual components and final build of lenses
- Participating in additional training and development activities required by TLS to aid the development of skills and knowledge
- Various ad-hoc duties expected of the role

**Role requirements**:

- Proven hand-eye co-ordination experience such as gained through working on small assemblies or model pieces
- Strong attention to detail with good concentration skills
- Team player and able to work on own initiative
- Tidy approach to work and work areas
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and varied role
- Willing to learn
- Genuine interest in our industry

**Job Role**: This is a permanent full time role of 39.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

**Location**: Barwell, Leicester LE9 8BE

**Salary**: £23,000 to £25,000 per annum dependent on experience

**Previous Experience**: You may come from a background as an Assembler, Assembly Operative, PCB Assembly, Mechanical Assembler, Mechanical Assembly Technician, Technician, Photographic Assembler, Lens Technician, Lenses Assembler, Model maker, crafter
