As Digital Content Editor in the English Heritage Curatorial department, you will work within a small team creating innovative and engaging digital content that places English Heritage properties, collections and monuments at the heart of the story of England.
You will have a background in producing exciting and informative digital products across a range of formats with the needs of their audience at their centre. Using a passion for history and a keen editorial eye, you will seek out the most thought-provoking, exciting and revealing stories that English Heritage properties have to offer and find the best tools available to tell them to our online visitors.
In this role you will develop digital content in a range of formats, including written, video, audio and interactive, collaborating with colleagues from around the Curatorial Department to seek out the most engaging and representative stories that will excite our audience about the history of our sites and support physical site interpretation projects.
You will ensure all content is optimised to meet best practice in SEO and web accessibility and use analytics and insights to monitor performance, gain an understanding of audience needs and motivations, and build these findings into future digital projects.
The role is based out of the London office although home working is the current predominant mode within the team. Please note that this role requires frequent travel to sites that are often in remote locations and so a full driving license is advantageous. Occasional overnight stays away from home will also be required.
