**Who we are**
Wycombe Homeless Connection is a Christian-led charity based in south Buckinghamshire that works to end homelessness in our community.
We make a difference to the lives of local people, stopping homelessness before it starts through our innovative homelessness prevention programmes and reducing the harm homelessness can do with our frontline support and health projects. Our vision is that south Buckinghamshire is transformed into a place where no one loses their home and that there is suitable housing and housing security for all.
**The role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to join our small fundraising and marketing team. Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) benefits from wide range of community support which we want to nurture and grow by providing excellent support to people who fundraise for us in different ways. You’ll build relationships with individuals, community groups, businesses, schools, faith groups and other local organisations to encourage their support for the charity. And you'll ensure we participate as WHC in community events and delivering more of our own inspiring and engaging events.
Our Community and Events Fundraising Officer will oversee this work, alongside building and nourishing our team of volunteers to take part in and lead events. The officer will work with our Communications Officer among others to give everyone who works with and volunteers for us, a brilliant experience of joining WHC in its mission.
The role is part time, 30 hours a week and there is a need to work weekends and evenings to deliver/support some of our events. At the moment we run/attend about 10 - 15 WHC events on evenings and weekends each year. A variety of staff and volunteers lead these events and you'll build our team to increase the amount of people happy to lead events.
**Main duties**
**Support and nurture WHC’s community fundraisers**
You’ll provide exceptional care to our community fundraisers so they have a great experience of working with us while raising money and awareness of our work.
You’ll offer appropriate and timely advice and support on a wide range of fundraising activities, ensuring our advice and activities meet legal requirements.
You’ll develop best practices and processes to ensure we support community fundraisers safely and effectively.
**Build and develop a strong community and events volunteer team**
You’ll build a volunteer team who will be able to make sure community fundraising and related events happen, providing them with the knowledge, equipment, training and support they need.
**Explore and develop new support and areas of community fundraising.**
You’ll build relationships with individuals, community groups, businesses, schools, faith groups and other local organisations to encourage their support for the charity.
You’ll keep up to date with new opportunities to broaden and deepen our ability to fundraise. This might include getting involved or leading new local initiatives, or looking at new digital developments.
You’ll make our activities as accessible as possible for anyone who would like to take part.
**Manage our own events and supporting activities**
You’ll deliver our own events including our annual service and Big Sleepout.
You’ll work with our Communications Officer to ensure they have everything they need to promote events and community fundraising.
You’ll develop our services events to make sure we reach people who may need our help.
With the support of staff and volunteers, oversee the administration linked to community fundraisers, including updating the charity database with communications and managing and monitoring and managing fundraising materials.
You’ll ensure every communication and interaction with supporters is professional, of a high standard and reflects well on our reputation.
You’ll keep accurate and useful records of work to ensure effective and efficient working practices and for monitoring purposes.
You’ll undertake other relevant duties as required, working proactively in line with operational processes and procedures.
