Assistant Herdsperson

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Herdsperson to join a small team on our Dairy Farm. We have excellent transport connections, both public and private, being located just outside of Tarporley which itself is a 10-minute drive from the City of Chester. We need someone who can become a valued part of our family business.

We turn grass into milk with healthy cows; calve predominantly in the Autumn and have well equipped, modern facilities. Our milk is processed on farm into Cheshire Clotted Cream and other dairy products with the excess milk being sold to a local Cheesemaker.

This is a varied role where you will be required to assist with all aspects of the day to day tasks associated with our dairy herd, including:

- Milking
- Footrimming
- Grass measurement and grazing allocations
- Calf feeding and youngstock duties

Plus other seasonal work as and when required.

We are flexible with working times, with the current rota being based on a 50hr week, with 11 days on and 3 off plus 2 additional late starts.

**Salary**: £10.00-£14.00 per hour
