We are recruiting for a Permanent End of Line (Machine Test) Engineer for a global manufacturing company in Ferndown, Dorset.

The company produces innovative over wrapping machinery that is supplied to some of the world's biggest names in Confectionery, Cosmetics, Food and Tobacco industries.

**The Individual Role**:
The role encompasses all activities associated with the final set up and pre-despatch testing of completed machines.

The post holder will be required to take full ownership of any given machine for the duration of its time on End of Line whilst the machine is set-up on the customer's product and adjusted to be fully ready to run production upon delivery to the customer.

The role will require the post holder to have an understanding of the operation and functionality of the full range of the company's machines, the functionality of change parts, and the dynamics of perfecting a top class wrap.

Sound mechanical fitting skills are a prerequisite for this role, as is the ability to work closely and constructively with other sections and departments within the business such as sales, engineering and controls, and locally within the production areawith electricians and other mechanical assembly staff.

In addition to in-house activities, the post holder will be required to travel, globally, for the purposes of machine installation, commissioning and general field service activities. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, but additionally required to liaiseon a daily basis with the Supply Chain Manager.

Forming a sub-section of the Production Department, the function of end of line section is to turn a mechanically and electrically completed machine into a machine that is ready to safely and effectively run production within the customer's facility uponarrival and completion of site commissioning.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To set-up and test machines to perfect a quality wrap on the test samples supplied.
- To travel to work on-site at customers' facilities for installation, commissioning and general service activities.
- To ensure that quality of build and general machine operation meets the required level.
- To ensure that the machine operation is safe and complies with Company agreed standards.
- To partake of continued training to stay abreast of new machines and upgrades.
- To run completed machines for internal factory acceptance tests and customer sign-offs.
- To liaise with the Engineering Department to ensure that any modifications are back-fed for future reference on new machines and the supply of spare parts.
- To work with a software engineer/programmer in order to achieve the required machine functionality and safety requirements during set-up and testing.

Days: 39 hours per week, days (Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.45pm & Friday 7.30am - 12.30pm)
