We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Consultant to join our Forensics Team on a permanent, full-time basis.
**The Role**
As a Senior Electrical Consultant, you will project manage our forensic investigations of LV, MV and HV power cable systems and conduct compliance tests against BS/IEC standards.
Overseeing the project lifespan, you will manage planning, evidence collation, reporting and project clean up. You will undertake a range of condition assessments and failure analyses on polymeric and paper cables, joints and termination systems.
Providing technical advice across the Power Forensics team during investigative projects, you will drive continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices.
**About You**
To be considered as a Senior Electrical Consultant, you will need:

- A minimum of 10 years’ industrial experience
- Knowledge of power systems plant and its operation
- Knowledge of the electrical field distribution of power cables, joints and terminations
- Knowledge of partial discharge in relation to the ageing and failure of cable systems
- Knowledge of how to separate the observations following failure from the root cause
- The ability to undertake investigations that allow like for like comparisons of materials
- The ability to identify and mitigate risks in the handling of chemicals and materials
- The ability to project manage technical investigations including reporting
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills
- A minimum of a degree level qualification in electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Be working towards or have achieved professional registration status in a relevant institute
Ideally, you will have experience within a cable manufacturing or an electrical utility organisation.
