The Head of Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing is responsible for the overall quality of solutions delivered by the function utilising varied testing strategies and approaches to ensure outcomes are met. This senior leadership will be required to define and execute a strategy to build the testing & QA capability and evolve it in response to the businesses needs and strategies. This includes all aspects of the operating model including people, processes and procuring tools and technologies to support the quality outcomes.
The Head of QA and Testing is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of testing strategies for all solution delivery and change projects including technology based and business level acceptance testing. This role involves both expertise in the domain as well as extensive stakeholder management across executive, senior management as well as practitioner level managers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Define and execute a strategy to build and operate the QA and testing capability leveraging internal headcount, 3rd party services, tools, modern techniques and technologies
- Define and direct the Test planning, design and delivery of all projects and programmes within the Group Change portfolio. Proactively monitor progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action where required
- Own, develop and maintain all Test deliverables and ensure a regular improvement lifecycle is in place
- Co-ordinate the appointment of test resources to match demands from projects, product and other demand streams
- Recruit, lead and develop a high performing team of Test professionals, managing their objectives and career progression
- Actively drive staff engagement across the Testing team, ensuring positive staff survey results are achieved and maintained
Qualifications:

- Experience dealing with £multi-million digital business and technology transformation programmes
- Have leadership experience within an Agile / Iterative delivery environments
- Experience of multi-sourced environments
- Experience in the Financial Services sector
- Expert knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience of leading major programmes comprising technical, people and process change
- Experience of leading digital technology deliveries to support proposition/product enhancement
- Expert in programme delivery combining agile and waterfall methodologies as appropriate
