Motorcycle Trainee Mechanic

Brighton, United Kingdom ON THE WHEEL BRIGHTON Full time

As a Trainee Mechanic at On The Wheel you will be responsible for variety of jobs ranging from puncture repairs to engine rebuilds. You will work alone side and under the supervision of our Technicians on our key brands; Sinnis, Suzuki, KTM, Husqvarna, Peugeot and Yamaha along with other brands. You will need to adapt and problem solve whilst also working towards targets within our estimated job times.

This position would suit someone newly qualified or still at college

**Reports to**: Workshop & Parts Supervisor/Manager

**Main Duties**:

- Perform builds, PDI’s, services, warranty work, MOT’s and any other maintenance needed on new and used motorcycles in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Ensuring all the work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety.
- Ensure that all paperwork is filled out accurately and on time. Including PDI, healthcare and maintenance sheets, job cards, along with information on all parts used, mileage and time spent on the bike
- Work to estimated job times shown on job cards and advise Workshop Foreman if these times seem inaccurate or if issues arise during the course of the job that will cause a delay in completion.
- Ensure all jobs are checked and signed off by one of our qualified Technicians.
- Keep up to date with any manufacturer training
- this can involve travelling to other parts of the UK or doing online training.
- Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are always followed
- Manage your own workspace, and the workshop as a whole, to ensure it is kept clean and presentable at all times.
- Adhoc requests and duties as and when required

**Requirements**:

- Motorcycle - Engine Maintenance & Repair: Minimum 2 year Apprenticeship (required)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Automotive or similar qualification? (deal breaker)
- Strong work ethic
- Being able to produce accurate job cards for invoicing purposes
- Good-Time management

Hours: Tues-Thur 9-6 -Fri-Sat 9-5 or Part Time

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £7.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- BRIGHTON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- City & Guilds Automotive (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)

Work Location: In person
