Our Kent-based accountancy practice is expanding. Seeking an experienced, proactive Bookkeeper to join us now and help propel our practice forward.
We serve a diverse range of sectors and clients throughout the UK, and we offer a rounded service of bookkeeping, company accounts preparation, payroll processing, tax advice.
**Your Role**:
As a crucial member of our team, you will:
- Perform bookkeeping duties up to the trial balance stage.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts meticulously.
- Prepare accurate VAT Returns.
- Prepare Self Assessments with TaxCalc.
- Prepare Company Accounts and CT600.
- Offer support on general accounting queries within the team.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with both clients and colleagues, ensuring high standards of communication and service.
- Post payroll journals efficiently.
- Carry out other relevant tasks as needed to support our growing practice.
**We're Looking For Someone Who**:
- Has previous experience in a Bookkeeping/Accounts Assistant role, ready to hit the ground running.
- Is proficient in cloud accounting software, specifically Xero and Hubdoc, and has strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Is proficient with TaxCalc.
- Has payroll processing experience, particularly with Moneysoft and Xero. While not mandatory, this is a plus.
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of our dynamic team.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
**Additional Information**:
- **Full-time Position**: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
- **Hybrid Working**: 1-2 days in the office on St Mary’s Island, Chatham, and the flexibility to work from home for the remainder of the week. Occasional additional office days may be required but will be rare.

**Salary**: £19,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
