**Tasks**
- ** Position Summary**:

- A great opportunity for a Buyer to provide support across the UK within the TUV SUD group while providing you with the opportunity to add value.

**Qualifications**
- Provide day-to-day purchasing for the operating and shared service companies and supported overseas TÜV SÜD Group companies
- Requirement and modification of vendor master data
- Development, regular review and implementation of procurement strategy for assigned material groups
- Constant overview of current requisition notes, open purchase orders, contractual circumstances and vendor portfolio within the assigned material groups
- Takes responsibility for implementing cost-cutting objectives in department-driven purchasing activities, by means of standalone measures with/without direct reference to actual requirements and targeted projects, via
- Reducing purchase prices
- Improving terms of delivery and payment
- Thoroughgoing negotiation
- Exploitation of cross-(sub-)regional market arbitrage
- Achievement of grouping effects
- Active management of vendor lifecycles and vendor development
- Active management of contract lifecycles
- Improving effectiveness (negotiating provisioning of catalogues, vendor/contract management, etc)
- Identification and implementation of potential for standardisation/potential for responsible reduction of vendor numbers
- Structured analysis of purchase volume and transactions within the assigned material groups, interpretation of analysis results with the aim of deriving and initiating suitable strategies
- Negotiation and closure of master agreements (transparent conditions and prices, clear-cut specifications)
- Regular analysis of purchase volume and transactions in the assigned material groups and neighbouring purchasing portfolios; discussion of tailoring and scope of material group with other material group managers
- Implement and maintain purchasing procedures
- Liaise with internal customers to obtain best overall outcomes for the business
- Review of current contracts to establish best VFM & service level and to improve where necessary
- Establish sound and effective supplier relationships based on agreed Purchasing principles
- Monitoring and management of procurement activities in the assigned material groups in the region
- Service provider and advisor for internal customers
- Assist with the management of supplier assessment and vendor rating programmes for Internal Quality Procedures
- ** Preferred Skills/Experience**
- Previous proven experience in Purchasing
- Proficient user of MS Office packages
- Responsive approach to daily operational issues.
- Solid administrative skills with the ability to deliver against tight deadlines
- Able to work on your own initiative and self-motivated with a positive approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence to communicate at all levels
- Negotiation and supply chain relationship management skills
