About the role
**Camera Operator**:
We are recruiting for a permanent multi skilled Camera Operator to join our Digital Media Team. We are looking for an operator with significant experience in the industry and someone who is fully competent using Sony FX range cameras. In this varied role, you will be expected to operate and capture high quality footage using a variety equipment, which is then used on various platforms across the club.

The main duties will include:

- Responsible for the operation of studio cameras including multi camera operation and studio jib.
- Following camera script and studio show running order, provide clear and effective direction to guests and presenters together with communicating with gallery crew and team members to ensure the smooth running of each production.
- Prepare and practice specialised shot requirements with director and production crew. Ensure framing composition and focus is consistently kept to a high standard, as well as undergoing complex camera moves when requested.
- Daily management of studio floor responsibilities for live and pre-recorded productions including studio camera preparation and cable management, set layout and distribution of associated furniture and props.
- Filming interviews, documentaries, short and long form features, commercial and music events, live and pre-recorded ENG productions, press conferences, single camera matches, and high-speed football filming.
- Responsible for the operation and setup of Live U as well as communicating through talkback for OB and LIVE productions.
- Accountable for the safe packing and transportation of broadcast equipment to external locations and overseas.
- Ensure the correct and efficient rigging procedures are carried out to comply with health and safety regulations within tight time constraints.
- Efficient set up of tripods, cameras, microphone equipment and lighting rigs.
- Communicate with crew and delegate duties effectively on shoots, providing clear instruction throughout.
- Adapt to changing filming requirements when needed and offer solutions to any problems that arise on shoots.
- Self-shoot and incorporate producer responsibilities when shooting alone.
- Assist on key decisions with production on recording formats and codecs for given filming requirements.

**Who are we looking for?**

To be successful, you will have considerable experience as a professional camera operator in studio and outside broadcast environments and have good knowledge of football / sport. Having extensive knowledge in lighting and sound techniques, you will have the ability to determine and prepare the appropriate broadcast equipment that is required. Your extensive knowledge will also include the operation of studio pedestals, jib operation and camera and studio rigging together with experience in the operation of gallery lighting and racks systems.

You will be experienced in taking direction and using initiative by anticipating shot development, matching or alternating shot size as well as the ability to light for internal/external shoots and adapt in changing environments. You will have basic IT skills and MAC OS experience as well as a good knowledge of server-based technology. You will keep up to date with new filming methods and equipment, with an excellent knowledge of current and future broadcasting solutions.

You will have a high level of organisational skills and precise attention to detail as well as good colour vision and excellent hand-to-eye coordination. You’ll have exceptional time management skills and ability to work well in high pressure environments under tight time constraints. You will be able to use own initiative and be confident to work alone or as part of a team. You will have a flexible approach to working hours and unsociable irregular shifts including weekends and be comfortable meeting the physical demands of the role adhering to health and safety and manual handling procedures.
