About the role

We are looking for motivated Graduates to work in our fast-paced collections department. You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of collections and credit management as you hone your skills to become a credit management professional. From calculating and setting up payment plans, complex desktop account analysis to assess appropriate collections routes, producing data analysis, stats and KPIs for the department in addition to building rapport with colleagues, external third parties and customers. You’ll progress to more challenging areas, such as Aged Debt analysis and taking remedial action on customer accounts to ensure collectability of aged debt.

This role would be perfect for recent graduates keen to acquire the professional CICM qualification - The Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) is the largest recognised professional body in the world for the credit management community.

You will receive full CICM study support, including tuition, revision courses and exams. On the successful completion of the CICM Diploma in Credit Management, you will be eligible to become an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (UK) and to use designatory letters ACICM.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs to facilitate timely payments and payment plans.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to achieve team objectives and targets, sharing knowledge and skills for collective success.
- Efficiently manage workload, taking ownership of tasks and escalating issues when necessary to ensure effective debt recovery.
- Liaise with various departments as required, including legal, insolvencies, and disconnections, to support comprehensive business operations.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues with the support of team members, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Review customer accounts to maintain accurate data and identify any barriers to payment.
- Contribute to ongoing process enhancements and automation initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide analytical support and problem-solving expertise to assist and advise customers as needed.
- Verify customer invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure fair and consistent outcomes for all customers.

Key Skills & Experience
- Good undergraduate degree/HNC/HND (or equivalent), with up to 2 years experience
- Experience of working in a demanding environment with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and must be comfortable working with numbers and calculations
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate confidently and clearly when explaining complex issues
- Must have a keen and excellent eye for detail, with the capability to draft and prepare written documentation
- Willingness to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office is preferred and for Analyst roles Advanced Excel user essential.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Flourish in a high pressure, challenging and fast-paced environment
- Work independently, but also demonstrate excellent team working skills
