**WHAT TO EXPECT**

The role is a key role in Jaguar Land Rover’s global Corporate Affairs function based in the west midlands, promoting and protecting Jaguar Land Rover.

As Communications Officer CB & Sustainability, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of manufacturing communications priorities for a diverse audience of employees, local residents and media, councillors, partners, charities and other stakeholders relating to our Castle Bromwich Manufacturing Plant - where the role is based. In addition to this, you will support the delivery of internal communications around the JLR global sustainability strategy - part of the Reimagine strategy.

The role will involve responsibility for core communication channels at the plant, including the weekly Team Talk newsletter, digital signage and business critical employee briefs. A solid understanding of internal communications channels and measurement, including working knowledge and experience of software tools such as Poppulo, is a must. Stakeholder management, networking, and an understanding of what makes a compelling story is also essential.

You will also support the local and national news and campaign activities of the wider Corporate Affairs team, as a storyteller and content creator, in support of our Reimagine strategy, new Purpose and Refocus transformation.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support in the development and delivery of an effective internal communication strategy for the manufacturing plant (Castle Bromwich) and for the sustainability strategy.
- Co-ordinate internal communication channels including the weekly newsletter
- Delivery of written, film and photography assets to support planned and reactive plant communications.
- Support the delivery of employee communication and engagement activities: Milestone events, Town Halls/Village Halls, new model launches, tactical plant campaigns and initiatives.
- Work with colleagues to develop, collate and identify compelling stories and features and elevate across all channels
- Stakeholder management at all levels
- from hourly associates to senior leaders including supporting the Communications Manager with advising and producing material/content for the Operations Director
- Use technical in-house software systems (Poppulo) to manage and maintain content and distribution lists
- Use data and metrics to report and provide feedback on engagement good practice
- Manage process of auditing and measuring the impact of communications and make recommendations for improvement based on data.
- Develop opportunities to enhance and improve existing global communications channels.

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**

**Essential**
- Excellent communication skills - both spoken and written
- Demonstrable experience producing communications which is relevant and engaging
- Working knowledge and experience of using internal communications software tools such as Poppulo
- A good level of IT competence is required in Excel, Word, Power Point and experience with the creative cloud (indesign, photoshop and premier pro)
- Commercially astute and used to working in a business environment
- Able to negotiate and influence stakeholders
- Knowledge of key communications and engagement practices - both tactical and strategic
- Strong ability to organise self, and prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines
- Sound Communications experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Independent self-starter with a can-do attitude and the ability to work flexibly, reactively and perform under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Ability to identify good stories from across the business

**Desirable**
- Experience or knowledge of sustainability and corporate social responsibility
- Filming and film editing skills and experience
- Media handling experience
- Working in stand-alone communications role with large organisation and/or a diverse customer group
- Managing sensitive communications issues
- Experience in Manufacturing or Retail communications

**Qualifications**
- Relevant Degree, such as Communications or equivilent
- Ideally accredited membership of CIPR and/or IoIC
