We are currently recruiting for a Data Analyst to work for Gloucestershire Police at their headquarters in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire.

You will be working Monday to Friday hybrid working 9am to 5pm.

This is an 18 month contract.

**PLEASE NOTE FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST UNDERGO POLICE VETTING - CRITERIA IS THAT YOU HAVE CONTINUOUSLY RESIDED WITHIN THE UK FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS**

**Key responsibilities The post holder will be required to**:

- Provide support to develop our understanding of our current and future landscape of data management
- Identify data quality issues and cleanse - including but not limited to deduplication, validation, correction and deletion in line with internal policies
- Work closely with business analysts and teams in their analysis of data by determining issues that would impact on their work and undertake required remedial actions
- Work with the business areas to develop and deliver data cleansing activity and any required migration planning including risks, milestones, and quality and business signoff details
- Work with key stakeholders in the project to develop the timeline and impact of any data cleansing activity
- Monitor and report to progress against plans Proactively identify issues and risks within the data management landscape and help develop and agree mitigation responses
- Attend and contribute to regular project meetings Where there is data integration and interface points, understand data usage and evaluate the implications of any change
- Assist in designing, planning and managing the data cleansing and any pre-migration approach and associated processes including validation schemes to ensure accuracy, quality and integrity of all data, at all times
- Help develop best practice, processes and standards for effectively carrying out ongoing data cleansing activities
- Perform any related data cleansing and migration activities and tasks

The overall purpose is to:

- Drive the improvement and delivery of services, including compliance, processes, procedures, policies and working practices
- Work in coordination with the assigned Programme Manager and Project Manager and others to deliver effective solutions
- Directly engage with key stakeholders to gain insight into requirements
- Ensure our alignment of activity in relation to data management is aligned with national standards

Operational Operational responsibilities include developing progress of the data transformation work which includes:

- The production of the required products, plans and processes
- Resolving cross-functional data issues at the project level
- Delivering the scope of the work and escalating issues when necessary Liaising and providing update on progress
- Evaluation and dissemination of activities
- Working closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs and all compliance requirements
- Prepare any Follow-On action recommendations required

**Essential criteria Knowledge**
- Experience and Qualifications Knowledge of data transformation and information management acquired through a minimum of 4 years work experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven experience of balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity Stakeholder and relationship management experience within a complex business environment
- Knowledge of technical/digital project management is preferable but not essential
- Experience of working within a public service sector is advantageous but not a requirement
- Degree experience
