About The Role
**Location**:Communitybasedin Greater Manchester with some homeworking, supporting South Asian Communities.
**Hours**:21 or 35 hours per week available
We have an exciting opportunity for passionate Dementia Advisors to join us in Greater Manchester to support within South Asian communities. This is an amazing opportunity to have a rewarding career providing support and guidance to people living with dementia.
We strive to help people to maintain independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting people in more control of their own lives. We promote a person-centred service so that our support is unique to each individual, based upon their own aspirationsand needs.
The Dementia Adviser role requires you to work passionately to provide advice, support and guidance to South Asian people living with dementia and their family members/carers. You willinteract face to face, via telephone and virtually to give people the toolsand knowledge to make informed decisions about their future.
You will build and establish good working relationships with external organisations to continue to increase reach and build inclusivity in these under-served communities where dementia information is evidenced to be less provided. The Alzheimer’s Society Manchesterare proud to have a small but passionate team with a welcoming and supportive culture.
We would encourage applicants wo are able to speak an Asian language such as Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi.
**About you**:

- Working experience of assessing people face to face with an ability to assess their needs.
- Able to speak an Asian language such as Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi.
- Deliver advice and guidance with a non-judgmental approach and outstanding communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
- Good IT skills.
- Able to travel independently across Manchester.
- An understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers would be an advantage.
