Job Overview:
Background:
Purpose:
The primary purpose of this post will be:

- To support the Centre Manager in their duties and to deputise in their absence, ensuring a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all our young people.
- To champion ‘play’ and lead on this provision creating engaging and informative play and learning opportunities.
- To ensure the service supports the social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development of all attendees
- To champion and deliver interventions that directly support and enable young people to improve their life skills and future opportunities
- To support the Centre Manager in the front of house and operational management of the facility.
- To keep abreast of changes in the play sector, working in partnership, building stronger links with schools, NYA, the Local Authority and other key partners, who add value and complement the wider Speke offer.
- To lead on the collection of monitoring and evaluation data to inform future delivery and support funding bids including, maintaining the database of all registrations, attendances ,etc whilst ensuring data protection is adhered.
- To attend excursions and residential’s ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all those attending.
- To support the management of staff and volunteers.
- To maintain an active training register for all staff and in particular for safeguarding and DBS checks.

Responsible to: The post holder will be responsible to the Centre Manager.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:
**Management Support**:
1. To assist the Centre Manager to deliver core functions, including but not restricted to; service delivery, policy, finance, staffing and facility management,

2. To assist and coordinate volunteer programmes that target young people, parents and residents.

3. To lead, train, promote and ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and that staff are sufficiently qualified to do their jobs and that we meet legal requirements.

4. To reimagine and lead on a Youth Forum, setting up a Youth Board and proactively championing this work ensuring that young people have a heard, regular, consistent and sustained voice in the delivery of the service and wider organisation.

5. To assist in the production of annual delivery plans and management committee papers

6. To champion and lead on our Meals 4 All initiative.

7. To deliver the charities Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, especially in relation to the collection and collation of management and monitoring data for reporting and evaluation purposes, such as, annual user satisfaction forms, attendance and activity databases, registration forms and independent evaluations

8. To champion training and development with all staff ensuring that DBS checks, safeguard training, health and safety and first aid training are all current and updated.

9. To champion your own personal development, training and progression.

10. To work to our Financial Policy and Sustainability Plans by support day to day financial operations; such as maintaining/updating current systems, petty cash, cash handling, ordering, recording transactions, making payments, etc.

11. To undertake such other duties as required by the Centre Manager or Management Committee, which are consistent with the nature of this post and the level of responsibility.

**Play Lead**:
1. To lead, participate and oversee the delivery of our play service, creating a positive culture and environment; including staff management, attendance, activities and evaluation.

2. To work and actively engage with all children who wish to use the playground, aiding their personal and collective development through the medium of play.

3. To be responsible for the health and safety of all playground users.

4. To coordinate with other play workers the delivery of fun and engaging themed activities that support our annual delivery plan, including; well-being, sports, team games, arts, creativity, cookery and being active

5. To identify and hire third party deliverers that add value to our programme, as required.

6. To ensure we maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for young people to attend, managing staff and the Cook/Cleaner.

7. Coordinate and lead on overnight residentials and day trips, as required.

8. To work directly with children and groups to assist them to achieve their full potentials

9. To manage the tuck shop implementing robust systems for stock control and cash management.

This job description is not prescriptive and the post holder will be required to undertake other duties and training as required by the Centre Manager, which are consistent with the nature of this post, graded and the level of responsibility.
