Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Milker to join our team. As a Milker, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of our dairy herd by ensuring proper milking procedures are followed. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Farm:
Autumn calving herd.
Currently milking around 140 crossbreds through a new 16/32 delaval parlour with, auto ID, auto shed gate, auto wash and cluster flush.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform daily milking tasks, including attaching milking machines, monitoring milk flow, and ensuring proper milk collection
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the milking parlor and surrounding areas
- Monitor the health and condition of cows during milking, reporting any signs of illness or injury.
- Operate and maintain milking equipment, performing basic repairs as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain milking equipment
- Experience with power tools for equipment repair is preferred
- Basic math skills for measuring feed quantities and calculating milk production
- Knowledge of animal care practices and understanding of cow behavior
- Proficiency in using hand tools for routine maintenance tasks

**Salary**: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 25 per week
