This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of the team working with children and young people in our short break specialist provision.

We are now recruiting to a number of roles available within our new children’s shortbreaks provision. This is the opportunity to support vulnerable children with autism and learning difficulties and help enhance their lives, remain in their family and local community through your work with them.

This new provision aimed at supporting young people with high level of social and emotional need. Our mission is to provide a bespoke residential care service that would support young people to remain at home with their families by offering short break support packages.

Briarfield / Simon House is a new initiative currently being registered with OFSTED in order to provide residential short break services across the whole of the Bradford district. These include overnight stays through out the week, School holiday day care and short block stays for learning disabled children aged 5-18 years. The main aim of the home is to help children with disabilities to remain in their own home and community by providing social care support and respite to the children and families.

Your role would be to support and enhance the young people’s time away from their family home offering activities and stimulation within the home and the community.

Some young people, due to their disabilities, may present behaviours that challenge and/or have complex health needs requiring specialist additional training and support.

We are looking to recruit the following:
3x Senior specialist support - £29,250 (15.00p/h) - £33,000

14 x specialist support workers - 37.5 hours

**4 x specialist waking nights - 35 hours**

(from 01/04/2023)£23,556(12.08p/h) £24,531(12.58p/\h) - £26,325(13.50 p/h)-£ 29,000

+ Sleep in allowance (£50.00)

- physically fit enough to carry out the requirements of the post
- **Be expected to work in the specialist homes providing care and support to children and young people living in medium to long term residential care.**
- **Need to be resourceful, committed and able to adapt their approach depending on the situation and environment.**
- **Be able to work in accordance with our model of care in a multi agency setting.**
- **Have Grade 4 or above in Maths and English or functional skills Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent (see job profile)**
- **Have a Level 3 or 4 diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (see job profile) or undertake Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People within the first 2 years of employment if you don’t hold this qualification or an equivalent.**
- **Have at least 1 years’ experience of working with children and young people, preferably including some residential experience.**
- **Have the ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the needs of the service, you will also be required to undertake sleep in duties.**
- **Have the flexibility to work across the home when needed.**
- **Have the ability to use electronic systems.**
- **Have the ability to nurture and support the children and young people ensuring the environment is clean and their needs are fully met.**
