**The Company**:

- The company are an independent, family owned, reputable manufacturer and supplier of polythene products to the food, medical, retail, building, clinical, healthcare sectors to name a few. They are looking for a 'hands on’ Operations site manager to takethe business to the next level.

**Job Title**:

- Operations/Site Manager

**Location**:

- East Midlands
- To manage and control the company’s site operations and give strategic guidance and advice to the board to ensure the company achieves its mission and objectives.
- Manage and control the work and resources of the company and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives.
- Establish and maintain a program of works with the engineering team, to optimise production capability and capacity of existing assets, and develop a forward-looking investment strategy, improve efficiency, develop new products, and monitor progress againstthese plans to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible
- Advise the board on the latest technical developments relevant to the industry and ensure appropriate policies are in place to meet the company’s mission and objectives, and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.
- Reporting to the Group's Operations Director and working alongside other managers within the Group - such as Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Warehousing, etc to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate rangeand quality of services.
- Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met, revenue flows are maximised, and costs are minimised.
- Represent the company in meetings with customers, suppliers, government agencies and local authorities to assist in technical, health and safety, and environmental matters.
- Develop and maintain Total Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management systems for the site, to ensure that the best possible products and services are provided to customers.
- Develop, promote and direct the implementation of equal opportunities policies in all aspects of the company’s work.
- Work with the Finance Director to contribute to the preparation of the annual report and accounts of the company and ensure their approval by the board.
- Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Any other duties commensurate with the nature and responsibilities of the role

**Knowledge, skills and experience required**
- A proven record of success in senior level general or commercial management.
- At least 10 years’ senior level experience of management of people and resources.
- Graduate level of intellect preferably with a higher degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification.
- An understanding of financial, inventory and manufacturing processes / management and wider management principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with principles such as lean 6 -sigma or similar
- Political and presentational skills with an appreciation of the demands of conflicting interests and of meeting statutory requirements.
- A high level of commercial awareness.
- Leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

**Salary**:

- £60,000pa depending on experience plus benefits.
