**Job responsibilities**

You must have a deep understanding of health services, together with a passion for improving lives and improving healthcare. Whilst you will bring your experience to the role, you will also receive significant support from the Practice Partners, clinical and management team as part of your development. Previous experience in an HCA role is essential. An understanding of Emis clinical system is desirable but not essential. Pay negotiable dependant on experience.

- Understanding and knowledge of healthcare provision in GP
- practices, QOF and enhanced services
- Good clinical system IT knowledge of EMIS

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
- GCSE grade A to C in English & Maths (minimum)
- NVQ Certificate or Diploma in Health and Social Care

**Desirable**
- Previous experience as an HCA in Primary Care
- Qualified in Phlebotomy

**Main duties of the job**

Key responsibilities
- New patient registration checks, completing any necessary paperwork and referrals
- Urine dipstick testing, Phlebotomy, Blood pressures
- Injections, within level of training.
- Adult Seasonal Immunisations (this requires training certificate, observation and PSD or working under the national protocol
- Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals for educational purposes
- Spirometry, asthma and diabetic checks and make sure the right templates are filled and coded
- Telephone, Weight monitoring, BP Check, Recalls for QOF patients and LCS LTC target patients
- Re-stocking of all clinical areas and maintaining a stock and keeping all clinical areas clean
- To maintain an adequate amount of clinical supplies and health promotion materials, maintain notice boards
- To maintain and record emergency drug supplies and monthly emergency bags checks.
- To ensure that drug/vaccine refrigerator/s are running at the correct temperature on a daily basis and maintain a log
