Academy Cleaning

**Core Purpose**:
The post holder will ensure that designated areas of the Academy premises are kept in a clean and hygienic condition as benefits a high quality learning institution. In addition the post holder will co-ordinate daily hospitality activities and operations

**Key Accountabilities**:

- To supervise the current team of cleaners ensuring a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the academy and maintaining the effective running of the team
- Coordinating daily hospitality activities and operations
- Servicing hospitality meeting rooms within agreed timescales
- Completing all meeting room set-ups and clearing requests on schedule
- To be aware of the conditions associated with the cleaning of the academy relating to the academy / site users and to work to the appropriate Health and Safety rules and processes.
- To use the appropriate equipment, materials, tools and machinery to ensure the job is done effectively
- Cleaning duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, shampooing, vacuum cleaning, polishing and dusting of designated areas as required by the Academy
- Specialist cleaning where requested by the Academy, i.e. Carpet shampooing
- To report any damage / defects to the appropriate person
- To liaise with site staff, supervisors and line managers as required
- Auditing and ordering of cleaning products with approved supplier
- Creation of cleaning schedules, with regular review

**Skills & Experience**:

- A reasonable level of fitness
- IT skills to complete ordering processes
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
- Able to manage time effectively
- Ability to work both alone and in a team
- Awareness of health and safety procedures
- Reading skills for following instructions
- Maths skills for measuring cleaning fluids

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Act at all times as an ambassador for the Academy in a manner which upholds its Christian values and ethos and to model behaviour consistent with the Academy’s standards and aspirations
- Take an active role in the Academy’s pastoral care of students and fulfil a mentoring role if required
- Foster good relationships with parents and the wider community
- Have an agreed flexible working pattern to ensure that all relevant functions, including out of hours activities, are fulfilled
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal professional development.
- Carry out other duties as may reasonably be assigned
- Recognise that duties of a post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
