JOB DETAILS

A new-build structural warranty provider seeks a Building Inspector of private developers in the vicinity of Barnstaple, Minehead and Bridgewater. Basic salary circa £44,500 - £55,500, bonus, enhanced pension, healthcare, travel allowance, with targeted CABE membership support where required.

Building Inspector responsibilities
- Inspect construction or conversion of properties to ensure construction professionals adhere to Building Regulations and warranty criteria wherever possible to mitigate against future claims
- Provide quality assessments, report on defects, structural faults and recommendations to clients via on-site report generation
- Schedule own workload and ensure maximum efficiency during site visits
- Record inspections and relay findings to customers as required
- Maintain an open dialogue with peers and management to ensure standards are consistently upheld
- Advise the underwriting team on technical queries
- Balance insurer and client expectations

Building Inspector requirements
- Residential development experience from foundation to completion
- Qualified to degree/ NVQ Level 6 and above
- RICS/CABE/CIOB membership preferred
- Understanding of structural warranty technical manuals
- Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
- Full UK driving license
