Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years, HPCs two EPR reactors will be capable of generating 3.26GW of secure, low carbon electricity for 60 years, enough electricity to power around 6 million homes. In addition to the projects ‘clean energy’ benefits, HPC will create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

The IIA Construction Superintendent (In-shop) will be responsible for preparing works, liaising with the contractor and other stakeholders to build a picture of upcoming work and resource requirements. They will be responsible for reviewing or coordinating the review of certain documents such as Inspection and Test Plans, fabrication and quality control procedures and fabrication records. They will manage issues as they arise by liaising directly with the contractors and with other HPC teams. They will contribute to the weekly report produced by the Pressure Compliance Team, escalating issues and reporting on progress of the surveillance plan, ensuring their team are aware of the surveillance priorities. They will support a learning environment, formally recording learning in the HPC tools and providing recommendations to simplify and improve future work or repeats of work undertaken.

This role is based out of Dortmund, Germany with meetings in Bristol UK and visits to suppliers around Dortmund.

**Here’s what you’ll need**:

- Higher level qualifications in both welding (CSWIP 3.2, IWS etc.) and NDT (PCN or equivalent) would be desirable although are not essential for the fulfilment of this role.
- Experience in large power plant design, manufacture and construction.
- Experience managing a team of inspectors.
- A welding inspector qualification (e.g. CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent) as well as a basic ‘appreciation of NDT’ qualification.
