An opportunity has arisen for an ADHD Clinician (Band 6 or 7) with generic mental health experience to work within our ADHD pathway. The post holder will be providing assessments, consultations, 1-2-1 work, group work and will hold a caseload.

This is a part
- time permanent posts and is part of a well-established team where professional development and innovative work is actively encouraged.

The post will be supervised by the clinical director and nurse consultant who is available to discuss complex cases and there is an MDT group for support.

Main duties of the job

You will mainly be carrying ADHD clinical provide assessments. If you are NMP trained we will incorporate this into your duties.

The post will include professional, practice development and ensuring high quality client centred care is delivered. The post holder will maintain high standards of care and practice to support colleagues to take on a greater range of clinical tasks to improve client care in the service. The post holder will have a highly visible presence in clinical practice and be accessible to clients and their families. They will provide advice and expertise in the management of complex cases.

Our service is an pioneering service implementing evidence-based practice and following NICE guidelines. The post holder will be expected to deliver a high-quality service for our patients using research and good practice guidelines.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

To provide a qualified specialist ADHD service to patients and organisations with mental health problems across all sectors of care as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. They will utilise research skills for audit to support policy and service development; and undertake research within the area served by the service and of relevance to young people their families and carers.

The post holder will be central to the ADHD service by completing ADHD assessments and providing case management. The post holder will play an active role in multi-disciplinary discussions and assessments.

Person specification

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing
- RMN
- Professional registration with Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Post registration training on a ADHD module or relevant experience.

Desirable criteria
- Nurse prescriber qualification (NMP)
- Post registration training in a treatment modality to diploma/degree standard as a minimum such as CBT, DBT or MBT

Experience

Essential criteria
- Relevant post qualifying experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, autonomously carrying out ADHD assessments and case management.
- Experience of leading on the provision of advanced clinical knowledge and skills on ADHD.
- Experience of managing risk and safeguarding/ child protection policy & procedures.
- Experience of delivering mental health awareness.

Core Competencies

Essential criteria
- Able to confidently and competently undertake ADHD, generic and emergency assessments.
- Understands developmental issues for patients and able to adapt interventions accordingly
