**Job Title**:Transmission Operator

**Salary/Grade **Hourly Grade D £13.95 per hour

**Location**: Shrewsbury

**Flexible working arrangements will be considered for this role, in-line with the needs of the business.**

**About IPSD**

**Job Summary**

As a transmission operator you will be working on both new and remanufactured products for both British and International customers. You will be working on transmission from bare castings and individual components into a finished product. The role will see many different takes undertaken, from strip and vett of a transmission, to sub assembly and full transmission build. Testing of finished transmissions, and smaller component items such as valve body’s also form part of this opportunity.

**What You Will Do**:

- Fully strip transmissions to piece part component level.
- The inspection and vett of castings and components.
- The use of gauges and measuring equipment.
- The safe use of heat and freezing techniques during product assembly.
- Prepare sub-assemblies for main build.
- Perform transmission main build once training has been completed.
- Use a laptop to set up various sensors within a transmission.
- Perform IPV and quality gates within the transmission build process.
- When required support hot test to rectify issues within the test cell.

**What You Will Have**:

- The ability work with SWES documentation, written and verbal instructions.
- A knowledge of transmissions, this is a desirable attribute.
- Good experience with hand, air and measuring tools.
- Engineering, workshop or manufacturing background
- The attitude to develop both personally and professionally in a fast paced, continually growing team.
