We have an exciting opportunity to join our small, supportive and well regarded team as one of our Clinical Outreach Librarians. For this role, you will proactively work alongside healthcare staff and learners to promote an evidence-based and knowledge sharing culture in the organisation.

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative qualified librarian with experience of advanced searching of healthcare databases, delivering training and engaging successfully with clinical teams or equivalent. This post requires collaboration with individuals in a range of roles across different sites in Buckinghamshire so an adaptable and innovative approach to delivering services is essential.

The role is varied and offers plenty of scope for continual professional development as well the opportunity to make a real difference to patient care and service improvement.

As part of our team of Clinical Outreach Librarians, you will be responsible for developing library services to support designated clinical teams. Central to the role is building an understanding of the evidence and knowledge requirements of healthcare professionals and providing them with relevant, high quality and, wherever possible, summarised evidence to inform their decision making.

**Other key responsibilities include**:

- Attending meetings in clinical environments such ward rounds, and handovers as well as business meetings
- Undertaking complex literature searches
- Raising awareness and visibility of the Library and Knowledge Service through outreach activities and events
- Delivering a varied training programme including literature searching, critical appraisal, health literacy and study skills.
- Providing tailored current awareness services
- Evaluating and capturing the impact of services

The postholder will also contribute to the effective planning and delivery of wider Library and Knowledge Services and take on specific areas of responsibility such as co-ordinating the promotion and evaluation of clinical e-resources to maximise uptake and value for money and developing services for undergraduate medical students.
