This is a training role within the Psychological Therapies Team within the Mental Health In Reach Team at HMP Hindley. The post-holder will work within the Psychological Therapies Team providing high volume low intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The training post will equip the post holder to provide a range of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression related difficulties.

The post holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the National Low Intensity curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills. The post holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

- Undertake patient-centred assessments which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and using supervision, make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
- The post holder is responsible for providing a psychological therapy service to adult, male service users who are in custody at HMPHMP Hindley, providing evidence-based model-specific psychological assessment, formulation and therapy, and advice and consultation to colleagues, and to other non-professional carers, on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment.
- The post holder will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.
- Support clients in accessing appropriate services across the care pathway..Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help, computerised CBT, group work, information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media
