**About The Service**
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Highway Maintenance Operations Street Lighting team for an Electrical/Street Lighting Supervisor. The team are responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of the Councils highway street lighting assets and support other departments in the maintenance of their associated equipment.
**About the job**
The core functions of this post will be to supervise and line manage a team of 3 Electricians, 3 Driver Lamp Attendants and a signs operative within the Highway Maintenance Operations section. You will prioritise incoming work from all customers/service areas and issue work in accordance with the authorities policies, resource and time constraints. You will be required to manage maintenance and installation works associated with the adopted highway and other assets along with managing the health and safety of the service to customers, carry out site safety visits and respond to all emergencies that need to be made safe and remedial repair.

In addition to the core functions you will also be require to participate in the highway emergency response and winter maintenance services.
**What We Are Looking For From You**
We are looking for a person who is and has:

- Proven experience of managing staff and resources at a supervisor level within an electrical installation environment.
- experience of operating in the electrical installation works to City and Guilds C certificate standard and in Highway Maintenance.
- possesses, or be in the process of obtaining a street works (supervisor) and NHSS Sector 8 Qualified Supervisor status.
- Ability to plan and organise resources in the delivery of works and be flexible and adaptable in how work is delivered.

**Additional information**
Working Knowledge of on-site health and safety. Able to participate in out-of-hours call out. Utilise technology and I.T. equipment as required. Requirement to work outdoors in all weather conditions and various locations within the city and county of Cardiff. Maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach.

Post is permanent and the Councils flexible working arrangements are available. The post has been evaluated at Grade 7 with a pay band of £33,945 - £38,223.
