Engineering Support Administrator

Winchester

An experienced Administrator with a strong mechanical engineering background is required to join a thriving and very well established mechanical engineering company based in the Winchester area

Our client designs and manufactures gas turbine technology for a variety of industries and has offices in the UK and USA

Based in the Winchester office, you will form part of a small friendly team with the opportunity to develop your own systems and have input in to this very varied and exciting role

You must have technical understanding of mechanical / metal manufacturing

Key Duties:

- As the company Engineering Support Administrator, you will assist the General Manager throughout the complete manufacturing cycle, quotation through to manufacture stage of each project
- You will be the person to coordinate and bring together communication between the General Manager, Workshop and Office to ensure projects are on time and running smoothly
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and other offices in the production and control of documents.
- Reviewing customer specifications and preparing quotations for manufacturing systems in line with those requirements.
- Purchasing of components and equipment for orders on the production schedule.
- Compilation and control of Technical Files, to set standards which relate to the design and build of the product, and Manufacturing Data Records (MDR).
- Compilation and control of Installation, Operation & Maintenance Manuals (IOM).
- Control and housekeeping of all job-related files.
- Control of the production and for the subsequent transmittal of project documentation.
- Control of the house keeping of general reference files, e.g., sales, external providers, and competitors etc.
- Reading and implementing specifications from customer and suppliers into the drawing function.
- Investigating any product deficiencies reported by customers, sub-contractors, or other areas of the Company.
- Specifying components and products to meet customers’ requirements.
- Creating and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM) for jobs.
- Acting as point of contact for dealing with external providers and customers.
- Reading of specifications and customer requirements.
- Assisting the quality manager with the upkeep of the ISO documentation and standards.

Person Specification:
Strong administration and organisation skills

Some knowledge of the gas turbine industry advantageous but not not essential

Mechanical / Electrical engineering knowledge ideal

Proficient in MS Office.

Excellent math abilities.

Proven experience in an engineering support / engineering administration role.

7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday

7.30am - 1pm Friday
