Respiratory and General Medicine Clinical Fellow

The successful applicant will be a doctor wishing to develop their skills and knowledge of respiratory and general medicine. The successful appointee will join the existing respiratory team, based on the respiratory wards including Respiratory High Care, and supporting the care of respiratory and General Internal Medicine in-patients. On-call duties in general medicine will be negotiated with a successful applicant.

**Clinical**: ward based duties to include routine review of patients, progressing care, prescribing, requesting and evaluating relevant tests, liaising with all medical and allied health professionals. There will also be opportunities a weekly clinic commitment. Education: there are educational opportunities throughout the working week including weekly respiratory X-ray meeting and educational meetings, general medical grand round and core training.

This post is not accredited as part of a speciality training programme. This post will however provide an opportunity to gain excellent experience in the management of acute and chronic respiratory and general medical patients and to develop your PDP.

Duties and responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities - The post-holder will be expected to take part in ward rounds both with a consultant and independently and to support the junior team on the respiratory wards. They will take part in respiratory clinics and see ward referrals when appropriate.
