The role

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Purchasing team and will be required to create communicative and collaborative working relationships with others in the department by assisting in all purchasing activities using the ERP system and be involved with performing some initial purchasing activities and training within the department to further their career and will be an integral member of the team. This is a development position for someone interested in pursuing a career in Purchasing.

You will also review, upload, and amend requests from the business for goods and services, sent in via the ticket desk and other channels. You will monitor, update and expediate all RFQ’s, Requisitions and POs deadlines and maintain all relevant purchasing documents within the area of responsibility and support Purchasers in their day-to-day duties whilst having effective communication with internal departments, stakeholders, and vendors. Additionally, you will also monitor and follow up on timeous receipting of POs and secure POD’s to facilitate audit trail requirements, secure invoice back up to substantiate invoice payments.

Who we’re looking for:
Whilst previous Purchasing experience isn’t required, you will need to be proactive and motivated, with excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are key. You will also need to work with accuracy and to tight deadlines.

Previous administration experience would be desirable.
