Keane Futures Ltd seeks a motivated individual to deliver sessions for our Alternative Education programme, the Alpha Programme; and provide outreach services to young people.

The Alpha Programmeis designed to be flexible to meet the needs of students aged 11+ who are not engaging in mainstream education.

Our tuition services include outreach tuition, primary tuition, secondary tuition, tuition of home-schooledyoung people and supporting young people in schools.

Most of the work will be delivered on site, Timperley, but there may be some outreach work required and delivery of sessions offsite.

Our friendly team have a supportive approach to engage and inspire young people from a variety of backgrounds. We identify key recurring themes among supported young people to design and deliver a suite of resources and sessions to complement their education journey on our alternative provision and in the course of our tuition sessions.

Applicants for this post will have a passion for engaging vulnerable young people, SEND and neuro-divergent young people, and their families, and experience working with young people in schools or education-related settings.

Our sessional staff are hired on their creativity, empathy, ability to deliver holistic, pastoral care and achieve learning outcomes.

You will be confident in developing lesson plans with clear learning objectives and delivering lessons or learning activities effectively. You will moreover foster good relationship with staff and external agencies to achieve the best possible outcome for students.

You must be a highly motivated self-starter who can work flexibly to manage different tasks and priorities. You will have a professional attitude and a good working knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

**Qualifications**

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**

In particular, our sessional staff will be responsible for:

- Engaging with young people and developing and planning bespoke sessions suitable for their Key Stage level, which have clear learning objectives.
- Delivering sessions and activities to groups of young people in a classroom environment and in external settings.
- Preparing planning documents that detail sessions
- Preparing session reports to document sessions.
- Preparing reports for management, schools and carers.
- Undertake relevant training and development opportunities, as agreed with your manager.
- Contribute to cross-functional and company-wide tasks and developments.
- Attend team meetings and external inter-agency meetings and events, as agreed with your manager.
- To be an advocate for the young people you work with
- To implement and comply with all of Keane Futures Ltd’s policies, including the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures and ground rules for implementing appropriate behaviour with children and young people.
- Undertaking outreach with young people offsite who are disengaged.
- Any other duties of a similar level of responsibility as agreed with your manager.

**Personal Specification**

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of the education system generally.
- An understanding of Child Protection, Safeguarding, and Equal Opportunities practices.
- Knowledge of issues relevant to and affecting the education and development of young people.
- Knowledge of SEND and Neurodivergence
- Knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma Informed Practice

EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working with young people, preferably in a school or college environment.
- Experience of working with marginalised and vulnerable young people who are socially excluded and with complex needs.
- Experience of organising and delivering lessons and activities with clear learning objectives.
- Experience of working in education/voluntary/community settings.
- Working to personal targets.
- Experience in the use of IT software and of Microsoft Office/Teams.

SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills both in person, over the phone and online.
- Ability to relate well to young people from a wide range of backgrounds, engage them in activities which support their development and relate sensitively and confidentially to the needs of young people.
- Ability to adapt presentation style and approach to a varied audience.
