Refuse Operator

To provide an efficient and effective refuse/recycling collection service to the community of Fenland.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. To carry out refuse/recycling collection duties using wheeled bins, sacks, or any other recognised receptacle within the district of Fenland on any specific round or day as required.

2. To ensure the work allocated by the Environmental Cleansing Supervisor or Refuse/Recycling Chargehand is carried out within the prescribed timescales.

3. To complete documentation to the requirement of management and legislation.

4. When required, to cover for operatives engaged on other service areas, eg to cover sickness, holidays, etc.

5. To undertake duties outside of normal working hours as required.

6. To be available, as required, to deal with emergencies outside normal hours.

Refuse collection

**Skills and Abilities**

Able to walk long distances - approx 12 miles

Good observational skills

Ability to manoeuvre wheeled dustbins

Ability to comply with workplace health and safety

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 7 months

**Salary**: From £10.50 per hour

**Experience**:

- Refuse Operator: 3 years (required)
- Refuse collection: 2 years (required)
