Steve Vick International (SVI) is dedicated to delivering cost-saving solutions for damaged, redundant, or outdated pipework. Since its foundation in 1981, SVI has been at the forefront in developing products and techniques for the repair, renovation and decommissioning of pipes. Predominantly our work has been in the gas industry but increasingly we are undertaking projects in the water and nuclear sectors.

As we expand our operations, this new assistant position will support a small but growing health and safety department and could be an exciting opportunity for someone who is either completely new or recently established in health and safety, quality and environmental systems and looking to set themselves up for a career in compliance.

**Role Purpose**

As a core member of the health and safety team, this assistant role is designed to support the QSHE Manager with the delivery of health, safety, environment and quality assurance aspects of the business in line with current legislation and best practice. Working closely with operational teams, they will supervise and coordinate work systems to ensure that SVI’s products and services continue to meet the highest quality standards and that working conditions are both favourable and safe.

Increase our health and safety focus to cover all the new areas and demands of a growing business

Support the business to be able to consider obtaining ISO 45001 accreditation

Develop and enhance our environmental (ISO 14001) credentials

Build a proactive system to ISO 9001 which realigns with a company which spans across multiple site and employees 100+ staff

Support a key focus on quality requirements and non-conformances

Increase engagement with our key suppliers, seeking more efficient ways to work and reduce our Carbon footprint across our entire range of products

**Competencies, Skills and Knowledge**

Good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and any other software required for the role

Good health and safety knowledge, such as IOSH or NEBOSH or a willingness to work towards appropriate qualification upon appointment

Adept at role modelling a high standard in QSHE attitude and behaviour

Willing to embrace and drive change

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all departments to help build partnerships

Capable of multitasking and working on own initiative

Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

**Key Duties/Responsibilities**

Assist with the continuous improvement of the QSHE systems throughout SVI

Support the retention of all current accreditations including ISO9001 - Quality and ISO14001 - Environmental

Contribute towards the attainment of new standards

Assist with the implementation of new or existing QSHE-related legislation

Help to update and maintain documented records

Assist with both accident and near miss investigations (RIDDOR) and provide statistical information in relation to QHSE performance

Help with writing tool box talks and management briefs

Assist with annual internal auditing of QSHE standards

Maintain training matrix to identify training needs and schedule/book training courses

Maintain regular and effective contact with all departments on day-to-day processes and operations

Assist with risk assessment writing, including Safe Systems of Work and COSHH

Collate the agenda and minute take at the quarterly QSHE meeting

Monitor regular servicing and inspection needs including checks of safety, fire, lifting, pressure and electrical equipment

Attend relevant training courses as part of both personal development and to meet changing needs of the business

Be able to work flexibly across SVI’s different sites in Bradford on Avon

Full Time, Permanent - Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00

Salary range £25,000 to £27,000 per annum
