Howdens Joinery is looking for a Safety, Health and Environment Advisor to join our team based at our site in Howden in the East Riding of Yorkshire. In this role you will be part of a team who are responsible for providing safety, health and environmental management support, advice and information for all our Manufacturing operations to ensure compliance to internal systems, legislative requirements and external certification standards.

In your role, you will also provide day to day assistance to the site management team and identify potential risks, appraise the control performance of the site and monitor the effectiveness of the SHE systems. Acting as the point of contact for Health and Safety and Environmental issues, you’ll also deliver training, identify appropriate training requirements and share your specialist knowledge and advice to the site teams.

As a SHE Advisor you will utilise your skills to develop strong relationships with your key stakeholders in order to effectively operate in this cross functional role. Equally important will be your ability to work unsupervised but with the skill to know when to escalate issues. As a SHE Advisor you will need to act with integrity, professionalism and deliver a first-class service.

**What do I need to qualify for the SHE Advisor**:

- A NEBOSH diploma or equivalent (Grad IOSH) diploma in environmental management (Assoc Member IEMA)
- Good working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Experience working within a similar environment or position
- Organised and able to manage, prioritise and plan workload effectively
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently deliver H&S and environmental training
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- It would be desirable for you to be a Chartered Member of IOSH and either a Lead or Internal Auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- A full driving licence is essential
