About you and this role

Employees in Operations at Dow use science to build an exciting career. Currently we are looking to hire a Turnaround Planner to join our team in Barry, UK. Are you ready to discover the science behind your career?

Creates job packages from the work order scope which contains all of the information regarding required labor material and services to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the work. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assesses the scope of work assignments for technical completeness and returns work orders to gatekeeper, if not complete.
- Carries out field checks, with other disciplines as needed and uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.
- Checks archived plans / work packages and either modifies them or creates new for the task being planned, inputting the required resources, materials, and services into the work order in SAP.
- Is able to come up with various alternatives for the job plan and to evaluate alternatives regarding costs and lead time.
- Identifies task activities necessary to execute job plan, and identifies materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks.
- Informs other departments / firms that are involved in the process about their obligation to provide input for compiling the job plan.
- Identifies/solicits safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
- Is able to estimate costs on job level.
- Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before the job package is released. Checks that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment.
- Serves as a technical resource during procedure creation and review, as needed. Creates, develops, changes, updates job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure Management of Change (MOC), as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Has knowledge of EH&S procedures and procedures in general.
- 3 years of planning experience
- Technical qualifications in engineering.
- Experience in planning of Maintenance Works.
- Basic Knowledge of SAP and other Microsoft office software is beneficial.
