James Ray Recruitment are delighted to be working with a prestigious Leeds City Centre firm who are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their fast paced high volume Finance Department.

**The Role of the Finance Assistant**:
To ensure accurate and timely processing of allocated cashiering duties with the expected skill level, learning new tasks as and when required.

Working as Part of a Team or individually to ensure all service levels are achieved within the department.

**Duties of the Finance Assistant**
- Processing and recording all Accounts Payable invoices received from suppliers.
- Liaising with heads of departments to secure approval of invoices.
- Processing employees’ Expenses claims.
- Processing cheques and daily banking.
- Maintaining Purchase Ledger spreadsheets.
- Reviewing Creditors reports and liaising with suppliers for statements.
- Working on system generated reports i.e. court fees, land registry postings, office credits, counsel invoices, etc.
- Generally acting as part of a wider Finance team, assisting on all cashiering issues, field and deal with queries, ensuring filing is kept up to date on a daily basis, and any other ad-hoc duties.
- Able to work well under pressure, use initiative and work within strict deadlines.
- Possess good attention to detail and take pride in all tasks undertaken.
- Able to work in a team environment, supporting colleagues when required.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels and can interpret instructions.
- Courteous and good telephone manner essential
- Open to change and keen to learn new skills.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Accounts experience within a high volume environment.
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word
- Liberate software would be an advantage.
- Finance education/qualification is preferred.
- Knowledge of Banking platforms beneficial.
- Finance experience within the legal sector is desirable.

**Working Hours**:

- Monday - Friday (09:00 - 17:00)
- Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**:

- £21,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
