**Job Title**: Project Archivist

**Location**:Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

**Salary**: £30,233 per year.

**Job type**:Fixed term contract for 18 months, 40 hours per week.

We are looking for an individual to bring their experience as a Project Archivist to The Mulberry Bush If you have the ability to create accurate catalogue descriptions to international standards of archival description in partnership and support from theSenior Archivist we would love to hear from you

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Identify children's data and other personal data within the collection and work with the Data Protection Officer and Senior Archivist to take appropriate action.
- Review the preservation needs of the collection, both physical and digital.
- Assist with recruiting and overseeing project volunteers if needed.
- Scope and weed the digital photographs ready for preservation (there is no expectation that these will be arranged or catalogued as part of this project).
- Liaise with the Mulberry Bush Ex-Pupils Advisory Group and communities of interest supporting use of The Mulberry Bush Archive.
- Actively work towards strengthening the relationship between Archives, Research, Education and Outreach teams across the charity.
- Provide occasional cover in the search room when needed and assistance with routine procedures in the running of the archives service.
- Support the rest of the Organisation to fulfil the charity's objectives.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- A recognised professional qualification in archives and records management.
- Experience working both independently and within a team.
- Strong time management skills and experience working to deadlines.
- Knowledge of best practise when working with archives that contain sensitive data.
- Willingness to work with a diverse client base, taking an inclusive and professional approach in-line with the charity's values.
- Readiness to understand therapeutic communities and their underlying principles.

Experience in the following is desirable:

- Creating archival data following international standards.
- Archival appraisal and repacking mixed media collections.
- Creating continent warnings in archival descriptions.
- Managing a project from start to completion.
