An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance Team of The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This post is to assist the Senior Finance Analyst.

**The main duties of the Assistant will be to**:
1.Assist the preparation of directorate budgets.

2. Assist in the checking of invoices from Trust suppliers.

3. Assist the production of timely and accurate monthly budget reports, forecasts and variance analysis in line with department deadlines.

4. Provide financial information to the Head of Financial Reporting, Directorate Accountants and other Senior Finance Analysts.

5. Provide information for the Board Report, Department of Health reports, NHSE reports, and other external reports with appropriate deadlines.

6. Provide advice and support to budget managers concerning their financial reports.

7. Provide costings to the Management Accountants and Senior Finance Analysts for new developments, projects and budgetary changes.

8. Prepare and enter to the financial ledger system financial journals

9. Prepare, calculate and enter budget adjustments to the financial system

1. Prepare the first draft of budget reports on a monthly basis.

1.2. Responsible for the first draft calculations, journals and corrections on the monthly budget reports.

1.3. Prepare some costings of service line business plans as instructed by the Senior Finance Analyst.

1.4. Prepare checks of financial data and processes to contribute to the management and regulation of financial stewardship by the budget managers, budget holders and administrative staff who prepare orders for goods and services, within the service line, division, or department.

1.5. Provide detail to senior finance staff for dissemination to budget holders and other managers and staff and for collation into ELT or other papers in respect of variations to budget, mitigations being undertaken and restorative actions.

1.6. To adhere to the timetable for the production of timely and accurate monthly budget, forecast and variance reports in line with department deadlines.

1.7. Assist in the checking of supplier invoices, to ensure they are accurate and complete, and prepare a list of queries for review by senior finance staff.

1.8. Obtain and collate information regarding income generation schemes, and draft invoices for review by senior finance staff.

1.9. Obtain and collate information for inclusion in the Agency return, and prepare it for review by senior finance staff.
