**THE ROLE**

The Head of Sustainability at Boohoo plays a pivotal role in delivering the group’s ESG strategy and implementing more sustainable practices across the organization and its supply chain.

Responsibilities encompass a wide range of initiatives aimed at reducing boohoo group scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and environmental impact in line with our Science Based Targets, and promoting the groups broader ESG strategic goals.

Key tasks include reporting into the Exec and Non-Exec ESG Committees, leading the groups Environment & Climate Committee, working with our brands and suppliers, collaborating with cross-functional group teams, engaging with external stakeholders, and driving the company's commitment to environmental and social stewardship.

**YOUR TEAM**

Responsible Sourcing and Product Operations is reimagining how the Group works globally. We cover Sustainability, Sourcing, Ethical Trade, Product Quality and Operational Efficiency. We turn challenges into opportunities so we can be as commercially and operationally effective as possible while still being ethical and sustainable In some companies, what we do gets split into many smaller teams. **WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering business wide training on ESG to upskill all areas of the business. To promote circularity initiatives, improve group carbon accounting skills and understanding to refine our approach to emissions tracking and navigate our path towards a net zero roadmap.

You will work to map the groups supply chain, beyond tier 1 to fabric, trims and accessories.

You will hold responsibilty for the ESG content within the groups annual report. To collaborate with our corporate communications team to develop and execute a ESG communication strategy.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Creating a comprehensive ESG strategy aligned with Boohoo's values and business objectives.
- Collaborating with suppliers, customers, NGOs, and industry groups to drive ESG initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to map and reduce the company's carbon footprint, energy usage, waste, and water consumption.
- Ensuring the responsible sourcing of materials, evaluating suppliers' practices, and supporting fair labour conditions.
- Implementing circular practices such as recycling, upcycling, and reducing single-use materials.
- Enhancing visibility into the supply chain to ensure sustainable practices are upheld.
- Collaborating with design and R&D teams to develop more sustainable products and materials.
- Monitoring and reporting on sustainability performance, complying with regulations and standards.
- Educating and engaging employees on sustainable practices and fostering a culture of responsibility.
- Engaging with local communities through philanthropic efforts and initiatives.
- Representing Boohoo in sustainability-focused industry forums and advocating for sustainable practices.
- Utilizing data to measure progress, set benchmarks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicating the company's sustainability efforts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Working closely with executive leadership to integrate sustainability into the company's overall strategy.
- Exploring and implementing innovative technologies and practices to further sustainability goals.

**Skills, qualification, and experience**
- Extensive experience in sustainability leadership roles, ideally within the fashion or retail industry.
- Strong understanding of environmental and social responsibility principles, regulations, and industry trends.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sustainability strategies.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to delivery of the group strategy against the backdrop of the commercial targets the group has to deliver.
- An understanding of the ever-expanding legislative framework in the UK, EU and US.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to use analytics for decision-making.
- Familiarity with circular economy principles, ethical sourcing, and responsible business practices.
