The Company has over 40 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of battery-powered data logging, meter reading and pressure control products for the utilities sector. The products and solutions use the latest technologies and innovation to facilitate efficient management of water and gas networks.
We are looking for a self-motivated Stores Assistant to join our team, reporting into the Stores Manager.
**Main Purpose of the Job**:
To complete all stores activities within the stores and purchasing department, with the effective use of equipment, and technical resources to ensure that agreed levels of stores performance are met and requirements of quality and timing are satisfied or exceeded.
**Main Responsibilities/Outputs of Job**:
- Accept delivery of scheduled deliveries in a courteous and professional manner.
- Put away received deliveries in line with company policies in an accurate and timely manner.
- Record received deliveries in the companies MRP system to ensure the accurate recording of stock.
- To ensure that all stores activities take place in accordance with the relevant standard operating and quality procedures as established in the Company documentation.
- To develop and maintain an effective relationship with the wider Operations Team.
- Participate in change and improvements within the Stores department, under the supervision of the Stores Manager.
- To report any stock discrepancies to the stores manager.
- To maintain equipment as instructed by the management team. (For example barcode scanners, etc.)
- To ensure that all tools and equipment issued to the stores department are accounted for and well maintained with any defects or issues being reported to the Management Team in a timely manner.
- To ensure that the Company Health & Safety policy is adhered to, including but not limited to ensuring the use of safety glasses, cut proof gloves and the correct tools and equipment.
- To set a positive example to other members of the team.
- To ensure that kits for manufacture are packed accurately, in a standardised manner and a timely fashion with all required documentation completed and made available to relevant parties.
- To record and report on common kit issues to the Stores Manager to allow corrective action to drive continuous improvement.
