Painter & Decorator

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Painter and Decorator to work at our Buckshaw Retirement Village covering The Lodge, The Grange and The Court.
The HICA Group has many years of experience in providing a range of services in order to support people to get the best out of life. The post holder will complete maintenance and refurbishment work, mostly of a decorative nature, although at times work with associated trades as necessary.
- **Pay & Hours**:_
- Rate of Pay: £13.20 per hour
- Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (8am - 4pm)
- **The Role**:_
- Carry out pre and post inspections
- Carry out a range of external and internal painting and redecoration tasks
- Complete records as required
- Liaise and work with all other trades providing technical advice as and when required.
- To self-manage and audit all work carried out in agreement with the Project Manager.
- To ensure all work is carried out in a safe, proper and thorough manner taking into account Health and Safety legislation, HICA Policies and procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
- To work safely at heights, internally and externally using appropriate access equipment such as a tower scaffold.
- To maintain at all times a pleasant and courteous demeanor and give excellent customer service.
- To highlight any areas of safety or decorative concern that might impact on a safe and healthy environment for service users.

- Experience of General Repairs/DIY Skills and Maintenance
- Knowledge of basic Health and Safety
- Experienced in Internal and External painting and decorating
- Knowledge of confidentiality and its meaning.
- Friendly and Compassionate disposition
- Ability to relate and respond to Service Users
- Relevant Painting and Decorating Qualifications advantageous
- Experience of working within a care setting beneficial but not essential
