We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Global Tax team as **Tax Graduate**, based from our Sunderland office.
The Arriva Global Tax Team provides support and advice in all areas of tax to all Arriva businesses, whether in the UK or overseas, and is responsible for helping those businesses meet their tax obligations and responsibilities. The team help to ensure that the Arriva businesses pay the right amount of tax in the right place and at the right time. They also get involved in a variety of projects and assess the impact of the ever changing tax landscape on Arriva businesses across countries we operate in.
**About the role**
The role of Tax Graduate, provides an excellent opportunity to join the Global Tax Team to learn from a team of in-house tax specialists with a wealth of experience in both practice and industry. The Arriva Global Tax Team is one of the largest in-house tax teams in the North East.
The role presents an opportunity to develop a breadth of experience, including:
- UK Tax compliance and reporting (both direct and indirect taxes).
- International reporting.
- An opportunity to assist in providing tax advisory support to the wider Arriva Group. This includes responding to tax queries from the wider Group, supporting the development of processes and ad hoc project work.
- Assist with transfer pricing matters.
- Providing general support to the wider tax team.

**What we'd like from you**
We’re looking for a collaborated individual with ability to self-motivate as well as work well within a team. You should have a solid desire to learn and develop as a tax/finance professional and take a hands-on approach whilst being able to manage competing demands and timeframes.
- Have or be expected to achieve a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree, ideally in a finance, business or legal related discipline.
- Have an entrepreneurial outlook, with ambition and passion to make a difference at Arriva.
- Be confident in challenging stakeholders at all levels within the business and be able to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate excellent Microsoft suite skills, particularly Excel.
- Be a collaborative, concise communicator with the ability to engage at all levels internally and externally within a diverse multi-cultural environment.
- Be results driven with ability to innovate, implement and drive operational excellence.
- Be open to feedback, to learn and improve from.
